The Atlantic Salmon here run BIG. The Matapedia is considered one of the best salmon rivers in the Province of Quebec. Cold Spring Lodge has private fishing rights on 5 beautiful salmon pools.
June can be the prime time for the large, and hard to catch, salmon. Although there is never a guarantee that you will catch a big Atlantic, a fish in the Matapedia can be in the 30 pound range.
